Designed by Exquisite Experiences

Catch the train from Amsterdam to Ghent and make your way to your Ghent hotel to check in.

This afternoon you meet your private guide for a half day walking city tour during which you will see buildings from the Middle Ages, such as the Belfry, the St. Nicholas Church the Earl’s Castle, and the St Bavos Cathedral, home of the world famous “Mystic Lamb” Painting. Take a short boat trip along the canal to experience Ghent from the water and see the particularly beautiful buildings on the canals which are lined with houses dating from the Flemish Renaissance and earlier. This evening you are free at leisure to enjoy the city.

The next morning you catch the train to Brussels.

Meet your guide for a private city tour and pass the Grand Place, the renowned statue of the Manneken Pis (perhaps wearing one of his 600 outfits), the St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral, Place du Grand Sablon and other historical sites. You will have free time for lunch in one of the restaurants to enjoy some typical Belgian cuisine. As Belgium is famous for its hundreds of different special beers and its first class chocolate you may consider visiting a beer brewery or a chocolatier.

In the evening you transfer to Brussels Midi Station for your return Thalys train journey to Amsterdam.
